Ohio Sports Betting Kiosks
Ohio runs the country\'s most accessible self-service sports betting kiosk program. The Ohio Lottery operates Type C kiosks at approved bars, restaurants, and convenience stores across the state, allowing cash wagers up to $700 per ticket.
How Ohio Kiosks Work
Ohio Lottery sports betting kiosks are touchscreen terminals located at venues holding a Type C license — primarily neighborhood bars, taverns, and select convenience stores. The Ohio Lottery contracts with operators (Intralot is the primary technology provider) to run the kiosk network.
Available bet types are limited compared to online sportsbooks: spreads, moneylines, totals, parlays (up to 12 legs), and a small selection of futures. Live betting and player props are not available at kiosks.
Kiosk Limits & Rules
- Maximum wager: $700 per ticket
- Maximum daily wager: $1,100 per person
- Cash only: Kiosks accept paper currency, no debit cards or digital wallets
- Age: Must be 21+ with valid government ID
- Payouts: Tickets up to $599 redeemed at any kiosk; $600+ paid through Ohio Lottery claim centers
- Ticket expiration: Winning tickets must be redeemed within 180 days
Where to Find Kiosks
The Ohio Lottery maintains an updated list of kiosk-equipped venues at the official Ohio Lottery website. Most major metro areas (Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Dayton) have dozens of approved locations. Smaller towns often have at least one bar or restaurant offering kiosk betting.
Kiosk venues are typically marked with Ohio Lottery sports betting signage on the door and at the bar.
Kiosks vs Mobile Apps
Mobile sportsbooks like DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM offer significantly better odds, deeper markets, live betting, player props, and welcome bonuses up to $1,500. Kiosks are best suited for casual cash bettors who prefer paper tickets and an in-bar experience.
For serious sports bettors, mobile apps deliver materially more value — the kiosk juice is consistently 5-10 cents wider than the corresponding online line.
